Aluminium Bi-Fold Doors

When they’re open, however, bi-fold doors come into their own. Unlike sliding doors, bi-fold doors can open fully, allowing you to connect with nature like never before. If you love the idea of experiencing the sights and sounds of your garden from the comfort of your armchair, bi-fold doors are hard to beat.

Their lightweight makes them easy and quick to open and close, too, though they do take up some space when folded together. Fortunately, because they can be configured to fold up either inside or outside your home, this isn’t normally an issue.

Aluminium Sliding Doors

Aluminium sliding doors look sleek and minimalist, utilising large panes of glass and thin (but tough) frames. Though they can’t open fully in the same way as their bi-fold counterparts, the fact that they have fewer frames means that the view out when the doors are closed is virtually uninterrupted. This means that they allow more natural light in too, which is useful during dark British winters!

Despite the weight of large sliding doors, cleverly designed mechanisms make opening and closing them a breeze – although they’re rarely quite as effortless as bi-fold doors. They can be more expensive too.
