Klosen Involved in Construction of ABBA Arena

We were honoured recently to have been asked to assist in the construction of the all-new ABBA Arena in London, a purpose-built facility designed to host an exciting new ‘virtual’ concert experience, ABBA Voyage.

About the arena

Designed specifically for the virtual concert residency, the ABBA Arena hosted its first performance in May, which was attended by such celebrities as Kylie Minogue, Keira Knightley, Kate Moss and members of the Swedish royal family.

Forming a crucial part of the $175 million project, the arena – constructed in the capital’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – is cutting edge and totally unique. Easy to access from across the capital and surrounded by shops and eateries, the venue delivers an experience like no other.

Work we completed

It was a real privilege to have been asked to carry out work on the new facility. We were contracted to supply and install bespoke trapezium glazing on the site’s VIP area, along with a collection of heavy-duty, fire-rated doors and windows.

To fulfil the requirements of the VIP areas, we had to source specialist acoustic glass and manufacture bespoke frames to house it. A completely tailor-made installation, the work completed on the VIP area was quite involved and required the use of cranes to lift the assemblies into place.

Additionally, we supplied and fitted a collection of top-quality doors and windows from our existing range of suppliers.

Products used included:

• Metal Technology’s 10-35 Commercial Door
• Cortizo’s Casement Window and SAS SPW600 Window

These products were selected for their excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, ensuring those inside the arena are able to enjoy the concert in total comfort – whatever the weather is doing.
