A newly constructed residential property located in the picturesque region of Cumbria, known for its natural beauty and serene landscapes. The project created a modern living space that harmonises with its surroundings while maximising natural light.
A key design feature was the incorporation of contemporary glazing throughout the property, complemented by modern cladding that echoes the natural environment.
The client’s vision was to maximise natural light by enhancing the interior with abundant natural light, contributing to a spacious and airy feel.
The client chose to implement slimline aluminium glazing systems to ensure minimal visual obstruction, enhancing views while maintaining a sleek, contemporary look taking advantage of slimline aesthetics.
They wanted the property to be energy efficient, so we incorporated triple-glazed solutions that offer high thermal performance. As well as that, we installed multiple Cortizo Vision Plus sliding doors to meet the specific requirements of high thermal efficiency with minimal sightlines.
For the front door, the client wanted a large design with a clear piece of triple glazing, the weight of this glass being considerable. Therefore, the Cortizo Millennium Plus 80 was the ideal choice for this.
Throughout the property, a colour was required on the aluminium that would suit the cladding onto the building and the natural environment. Much time was spent on this choice, and multiple colour samples were produced to make sure the correct choice was made.
The case study demonstrates the success of using slimline aluminium glazing to improve views and aesthetics. The glazing has enhanced the building’s appearance and modernity. Slimline aluminium glazing has allowed the transformation of the building’s exterior and improved the sense of space and openness.
