The Spinney is an ultra-modern self-build residential project situated in Lincolnshire. The client aimed to create a bespoke living space that encapsulated modern design principles, focusing on minimalism, light, and the integration of the outdoor environment into the home. A pivotal feature of this project was the installation of a significantly large sliding door system to maximise both light entry and views of the surrounding landscape.

Key Objectives

The client chose to implement slimline aluminium glazing systems to ensure minimal visual obstruction, enhancing views while maintaining a sleek, contemporary look emphasising slimline aesthetics. To achieve both functionality and aesthetic appeal, the client opted for a large glass expanse. So we integrated a floor-to-ceiling, exceptionally large sliding door system to achieve this.

The client wanted solar control glazing. To achieve this, an incredibly large area of glass was required for the amount of sunlight coming into the property. Therefore, we added a solar control coating to the glass, which gave it the perfect finish.

A large Cortizo Vision Plus sliding door was installed to meet the requirements of high thermal efficiency with minimal sightlines. Even at this large size, the doors slid incredibly easily and allowed an abundance of fresh air into the property.
