You may need planning permission for window upgrades on a listed building. However, this may depend on whether your windows are part of the original building. If they were previously updated and are not original, it’s less likely you will need planning permission. You will also need planning permission to change the windows in a conservation area if the council has imposed what’s called an Article 4 direction.
